What to expect during my initial appointment?
During your first session, you will work to establish a relationship with me, the registered dietitian. My aim is to listen and work with you to understand your past and present relationship with nutrition. Through a thorough deep dive into your medical and nutrition history, we will ideally establish initial obtainable goals.
Whether it is crushing your next race or feeling better in your body, I want each and every one of my clients to succeed through small goals that lead to long-term healthy habits.
To become a registered dietitian the title is protected by the law. Dietitians are required to maintain registration by keeping up with continuing education, specifically 75 approved hours over a five-year period. The main difference between a nutritionist and a registered dietitian is the education and license requirements to practice nutrition therapy and become a dietitian.
Do you take insurance?
No, unfortunately, I am currently private pay. I am happy to further discuss anyone's financial situation if needed.
How do you plan to meet with clients?
I plan to start out meeting with clients through video or phone format. But I am happy to meet in person with anyone in the San Diego Area.
What does the heading healthy dietitian like to do in her free time?
When I am not working, I am likely training for a race, taking a yoga class, or taking/teaching a Lagree fitness class. I am a recreational athlete who specifically loves to participate in endurance running sports, specifically the marathon distance. Living in San Diego, I try to spend a lot of my time outdoors or hanging out with friends in the area. I love to find easy, fast, and affordable recipes to cook for the week.
I am an amiable person looking to gain experience working with the general population. I do have experience working as an outpatient dietitian in specialized populations (spinal cord injury, eating disorders, other mental health disorders), which has exposed me to a number of nutrition related challenges.
My passion is to work with athletes of all kinds, the weekend warrior to the sub-elite and elite. Feeling good and performing well should go hand in hand.
